Work-Readiness Framework
Handlenders does not just screen CVs. We assess the person behind the CV — measuring the attitudes and behaviours that predict real-world employment success.
The Five Dimensions
Each dimension is weighted based on its predictive value for entry-level and semi-skilled employment success in the South African context.
Honesty, accountability and reliability. Does the candidate take ownership? Are they consistent and truthful about their experience?
Effort, initiative and desire to improve. Do they bring enthusiasm? Are they proactive and self-motivated?
Coachability and problem solving. Can they receive feedback? Do they adapt and grow?
Low ego and willingness to learn. Are they open to starting at entry level? Do they value team over self?
Availability, transport and job readiness. Are they ready to start? Do they have reliable transport and realistic expectations?
Sample Profile
Each candidate receives a score across all five dimensions. The radar chart gives employers an at-a-glance view of a candidate's strengths and areas for development.
The Process
Schedule a 30-minute work-readiness interview via our platform or WhatsApp.
A trained Handlenders assessor conducts the interview using our standardised framework.
Each dimension is scored and reviewed. Notes are captured for the employer summary.
Your work-readiness profile is created and published to the directory.
Work-Readiness Scores are guidance indicators only and do not replace employer hiring decisions. Handlenders assessments are designed to assist employers in making more informed decisions — they are not a guarantee of employment performance. All hiring decisions remain the sole responsibility of the employer.
